Metis

Head Coach Shooting, Team BC

I am a proud Metis citizen.   My Metis Family names are Delorme, Ross and Short from the Red River, and Thibault from Duck Lake.  My family participated in all the significant events in Metis History.

I was born in Yellowknife, NWT and grew up in the Metis Community of St. Albert, Alberta.

From 2015 through 2021 I served on the Board of the Fraser Valley Metis as Membership Director and Vice-President.

My commitment to Aboriginal Youth is evident through my roles including:

  • Coach of Abbotsford Aboriginal Archery Association
  • Coach of the .22 Club at AFGC featuring a partnership with iSparc to sponsor Aboriginal Youth
  • BC Shooting Head Coach for 2023 North American Aboriginal Games
  • Vice President of iSparc, the Aboriginal Sports Organization for BC.
  • Frequent mentor for the Nuu-Chah-Nulth Warriors (Archery, Shooting, Trapping, Bushcraft)

I am the "Captain of the Hunt" for the Metis of Vancouver Island, one of 8 recognized Knowledge Keepers of Metis Outdoors skills in BC.  I am committed to reintroducing our old skills to all aboriginal communities and our settler friends.  I am at home in the bush, and welcome company.

I am the Treasurer for the BC Metis Assembly of Natural Resources (BCMANR), and heavily involved in policy and strategy regarding our rights.
